These vapor barrier liner socks from Rab are typically worn over your liner or other socks inside of your boots to prevent moisture from your feet from escaping into your thicker mountaineering socks and/or your ski/climbing boot liners in order to prevent these other items from becoming wet and then potentially freezing or becoming difficult to dry out on extended extreme cold weather outings and expeditions. They will also increase the warm of your footwear system by only adding another thin layer.
